Hotels in fairly close proximity to NYC Tech:
The Marriot
http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/nycbk-new-york-marriott-at-the-brooklyn-bridge/
333 Adams Street Brooklyn, NY 11201
718.246.7000
As advertised on the website, rooms from $299 per night. Clearly high-end, very close (two-minute walk) to NYC Tech. Very close to the MetroTech Center.
Nu Hotel
85 Smith Street Brooklyn, NY 11201
718.852.8585 | Fax: 718.852.8558
Judging from the photos of the rooms and description, as well as the fact that prices are not mentioned or made readily available on the website, it looks rather high-end and pricey—for registrants who want a luxurious stay, perhaps! Conveniently located, great reviews.
Sheraton

228 Duffield Street Brooklyn, NY 11201
From the website:
“Located near downtown’s MetroTech Center, the Barclays Center, the historic neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, and the renowned BAM cultural district, our hotel is an ideal base to enjoy all of Brooklyn’s business and leisure attractions. We’re nestled in a unique neighborhood of art galleries and great restaurants and within easy reach of all major airports. We’re just 1.5 miles from Manhattan and minutes away from Wall Street, Chinatown, Soho, Times Square, and Little Italy.”
Prices not made readily available on website (you would need to begin the booking process and enter info in the fields to find out about rates), but it also looks rather high-end. Also conveniently located, just a few minutes walk to NYC Tech.
Condor Hotel

56 Franklin Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11205
718.526.6367
This is another high-end place, describing itself as a luxury hotel. It is in (hip!) Williamsburg, so there would be a bit of a commute (probably not more than 30 minutes, I imagine) to NYC Tech in downtown Brooklyn. Expedia.com seems to have rooms there in the high $100’s to low $200’s per night.
Super 8 Hotel
Park Slope, Brooklyn Location - 267 3rd Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11215
1-800-453-3213 (this number may be for the company overall, not sure…)
http://www.super8.com/hotels/new-york/brooklyn/super-8-brooklyn-park-slope-hotel/hotel-overview
Rates beginning at around $ 120 per night, according to the Super 8 website. This one looks a bit more modest and is in the South part of Park Slope, a decent area but not anything like the better-known part of the neighborhood North of, say, Fifth Avenue getting closer to Prospect Park. This part of town is a bit quieter and more industrial, but certainly a short commute by public transportation (or a very quick cab ride) to NYC Tech. Trip Advisor gives it four out of five stars. People staying here who don’t mind a bit of an uphill hike might enjoy walking North up to Park Slope in their downtime—it’s a lovely neighborhood facing Prospect Park, full of amenities and beautiful, tree-lined, Brownstone streets.
Comfort Inn Brooklyn
279 Butler Street Brooklyn, NY 11217
http://www.comfortinn.com/hotel-brooklyn-new_york-NY295
Also conveniently located, on the border between Downtown Brooklyn and up-and-coming, neighboring neighborhood Fort Greene, this place looks a bit more modest than some of the above, higher-end choices, though it requires you to enter a specific date-range and info about number of rooms, etc. to get rates.
